19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from that period of that year.
Success also means he has achieved 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet rescued four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, he earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
